Children Department

The Children and Youths Department is responsible for planning, promoting, implementing and evaluating a balanced ministry to the children and Youths from infant through to the youth stages of development.

The Department would ensure harmony among all the children, teens and their parents/guardians. Focus on the person spiritual development and work in partnership with other departments in the church parish.

Working Relationships:

The Minister of Children, Evangelism and Outreach is a member of the pastoral staff. This position will be directly supervised by the Pastor. This position is accountable to the Pastor, the Personnel Committee, and ultimately the Church.

Ministry Duties:

A. Pastoral Oversight of the Children and Youths Department

  • Ensure that the programs and curriculum for Sunday church activities are developed and conducted in a manner that compliments the overall church vision.

  • Plan and implement training programs that will effectively develop leaders in children’s educational ministries.

  • Develop and implement policies for the safety and security of children and vulnerable youths

  • Plan, promote, and implement annual or other special events for children and Youths (children, Youths, summer Camp, fellowship).

  • Ensure teaching positions, nursery workers, are well aware of their roles during church events.  

  • Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of any program, event, training, policy, or teaching materials currently being used for ministering to the children and youths.

General Duties:

  • Attend regular workers prayer and staff meetings.

  • Participate during worship in leadership roles as required.

  • Perform administrative tasks relating to the department as required.

  • Provide basic counselling for parents/guardians, youths and church members as requested.

  • Attend all RCCG wide functions and participate in Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and prayer vigil programs of the parish.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the pastor.
